Ask is a strong word, for asking or requesting; meaning petition, beg, crave.
Jesus said, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew 7:7-12).
Ask from Someone in authority such as:
A King. “Immediately she came in with haste to the king and asked, saying, “I want you to give me at once the head of John the Baptist on a platter. Mark 6:25)
A parent. “If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish?” Luke 11:11)
Someone who has money. “And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple.” Acts 3:2)
Ask our Father, LORD GOD Almighty. “And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” Matthew 21:22). “For GOD is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us.” Ephesians 3:20)
Brothers and sisters, please ask with all humility, truth, honesty, in a polite manner, not in a commanding manner, and with a believing heart, not with a proud heart, because GOD longs to give what is asked, and He hates pride.
Testimony:
I do know a sister who a few years back worked nights and days, to provide for her children. (Food and clothing). Whatever they needed, this sister worked extra shifts for that very purpose. (What a loving mother).
Our LORD Jesus indicated that we being evil, sinners, know how to give good gifts to our children, how much more will our Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!
“Therefore, do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.” Matthew 6:8) for example, James 1:5 tells us that “if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of GOD, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to Him.”
Brothers and sisters, please put all your trust in Him, for He is very Faithful and compassionate, kind, merciful and His love for us is great.
Please pray for world peace.
