Jacob Worked for Seven Years.

My brethren, as children of God we must be transformed to be Christ-like. “We must stop lying to one another since that is the old man, and you have put on the new self.” Colossians 3:9 which is being renewed in knowledge and the image Christ. Do you genuinely love your wife the way Jesus loves us?

Are you able to work for seven years for the woman you are about to marry or your current wife?

In the Book of (Genesis 29) Jacob worked for seven years to marry Rachel, the woman he absolutely loved, that meant, he waited to sleep with her because he genuinely loved her. Brothers, are you able to wait for seven years? Even when she becomes your wife, will you truly respect and adore her? Or is she a mere woman in the house/housekeeper? while you visit Susan, Kate, Megan and much more. God created Eve for Adam, one woman.

Men/Husbands, do you genuinely love your wife?

Are women just there to have children for you- husbands and when the time is right for you, verbal and physical abuse comes to play? You exercise your hands, your belt, chairs, and shoes on your wife, please stop because women are tender, loving, caring and their hearts are easily broken.

Please brethren, take good care of your wife’s heart, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another, if any of you has a grievance against someone, please forgive as the Lord forgives. And over all these virtues put on love, which is the bond of perfection, which binds them all together in perfect unity. (Colossians 3:12; 3:14).

“Please put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires/lust;be renewed in the attitude of your minds;and to put on the new self, the new man, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” (Ephesians 4:22-24). “You must have the Spirit of Christ living in you.” (Romans 8:9).

The book of Romans 12:2 also advices us “not to be conformed to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” (Romans 12:2) (NIV). (2 Corinthians 5:17) tells us, “If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come, and the old has gone.” Hallelujah!

Please let go of the old man in you.

Character in the New Man are:

Tender mercies, kindness, love, compassion, humility, patient, bearing with one another, and forgiveness. Above all these things put on love which is the bond of perfection. And it is well pleasing to the Father. (Colossians chapters 1,2, and 3).

Brothers and sisters, let us allow Jesus’s footsteps to be our pathway, imitate Jesus, be spiritually transformed to be Christ like. Amen.

Regarding your character, what have you been able to let go?

-Have you been able to let go of pride?

-Have you been able to let go of verbal abuse/physical abuse?

-Have you been able to let go of Lies?

-Have you been able to let go of your condescending ways?

-Have you been able to let go of Gossiping? Question, what have you been able to truly let go? (2nd Corinthians 5:17). Amen!!!
