The story of Mary and Martha is very fascinating; it is also real in the lives of all mankind. For example, I was anxious over many things that never happened, worrying over things that are behind (passed). But when I found Jesus, spending time with Him has given me peace, sweet peace, merry heart, that one cannot explain.
Martha was anxious and busy, but Mary chose what was right, to sit at Jesus’ feet and listen to His teachings, for she found joy, peace, and satisfaction in Jesus.
While Martha welcomed Jesus and His disciples into their home, she focused on preparing a meal. She was extremely busy with cooking and serving, thus, overwhelmed herself.
This story also highlights the importance of prioritizing time seeking God’s presence, His love and peace. Mary is loved because she chose to sit and listen to Jesus, while Martha is known for her active service and hospitality. The story points out that while service is important, particularly important, but prioritizing time with Jesus is crucial.
As a servant of God, I read four chapters of the Bible daily, and pray about three times each day, so, as children of God, we must learn to balance both.
Martha complained to Jesus regarding Mary not helping, but Jesus sweetly corrected Martha by saying Mary has chosen what is best.
It is also important to note that Martha’s actions of service were not condemned, but one must find a balance between serving and spending time with God. Read the word and seek His presence for spiritual growth, for Jesus is the Word.
Because Love is found in Jesus.
Peace is found in Jesus.
Joy and gladness is also found in Jesus.
Kindness of heart is found in Jesus.
Comfort is found in Jesus.
Wealth is found in Jesus.
Healing and deliverance is also found in Jesus.
Amen.
