Disobedience
Are we truly obedient to The LORD? Because there are consequences for being disobedient.
The book of Numbers 13 and 14 tells us about spying of the promise land, but I will focus on chapter 14:40-45 “And they rose early in the morning and went up to the top of the mountain, saying, “Here we are, and we will go up to the place which the Lord has promised, for we have sinned! And Moses said, now why do you transgress the command of the Lord? For this will not succeed. Do not go up, lest you be defeated by your enemies, for the Lord is not among you. For the Amalekites and the Canaanites are there before you, and you shall fall by the sword; because you have turned away from the Lord, the Lord will not be with you. But they presumed to go up to the mountaintop. Nevertheless, neither the ark of the covenant of the Lord nor Moses departed from the camp. Then the Amalekites and the Canaanites who dwelt in that mountain came down and attacked them and drove them back as far as Hormah.”
The children of Israel circled around the wilderness for 40 years because of murmuring, complaining and disobedience.
Moses’ disobedience:
The 20th chapter of Numbers verse 8-12 tells us that GOD told Moses, (8) “Take the Rod; you and your brother Aaron gather the congregation together.
Speak to the rock before their eyes and it will yield its water; thus, you shall bring water for them out of the rock and give drink to the congregation and their animals.”
Verse 11 tells us that Moses lifted his hand and struck the rock twice with his rod; and water came out abundantly, and the congregation and their animals drank.” He disobeyed the Father, but GOD in His mercy that is rich still gave them water to drink.
Verse 12 tells us that GOD was angry with Moses and Aaron. “Then the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, because you did not believe Me, to hallow Me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.”
Moses and Aaron died not crossing over to the promised land. (The prize of disobedience).
Saul’s Disobedience:
The Book of 1st Samuel 15:1-3 tells that “Samuel said to Saul, The Lord sent me to anoint you king over His people Israel. Now therefore, heed the voice of the words of the Lord. Thus, says the Lord of hosts: I will punish Amalek for what he did to Israel, how he ambushed him on the way when Israel came up from Egypt. Now go and attack Amalek and utterly destroy all that they have; do not spare them, but kill both man and woman, child and infant, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.”
But verse 9 tells us that Saul and the people spared Agag and the best of the sheep, the oxen, the fatlings, the lambs, and all that was good, and were unwilling to utterly destroy them.” This disobedience cost Saul his Kingship.
Brothers and sisters, how obedient are we to the LORD? I do know a sister who has been disobedient to The LORD several times, and each time, GOD our Father in His mercy and love that is rich and great forgave this sister over and over.
In most cases it took prayers, weeping and fasting, but it is worth it. Psalm 99:8 tells us that GOD’s name is “GOD-Who-Forgives”. What a loving Father we have.
Please pay more attention brothers and sisters because It is frightening to fall into the Hands of The Living GOD, so my prayer is to be extra careful, understand His command and act on His Word and command, also fill free to ask questions were you are not sure, our loving Father is always willing to explain.
GOD is Truly LOVE. Thank You for Your mercy that is so rich in our lives and it is renewed every morning and is also everlasting.
Please pray for world peace.
Blessings!!!
