The Book of James 5:16-18 tells us that “Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its Fruit.”
The Jews say those who pray surrounds their dwelling place with a wall stronger than an iron, protection. AMEN.
Elijah demonstrates just how effective the prayers of a righteous person can be, praying in line with GOD’s Will.
Are we praying enough? Are we praying with the Word of GOD? Prayer is you-reading His Word back to Him. Do we pray from our heart? With a command, that can release power by GOD’s grace? also with a righteous heart. Do we do the right thing in the sight of GOD?
Another story that comes to mind is from the Book of 2nd Kings 2:14 “Then Elisha took the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and struck the water, and said, “Where is the LORD GOD of Elijah?” And when he also had struck the water, it was divided this way and that; and Elisha crossed over.”
Was Elisha a righteous man in the sight of The LORD? What about Elijah? Are we righteous in the sight of GOD?
1st King 18:30-38 tells us about the story of the Baal worshippers and Elijah calling down fire from heaven. Verses 36-38 says “And it came to pass, at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near and said, “LORD GOD of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known this day that You are GOD in Israel and I am Your servant, and that I have done all these things at Your Word. Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that You are the LORD GOD, and that You have turned their hearts back to You again.”
Then the fire of The LORD fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood and the stones and the dust, and it licked up the water that was in the trench.”
Fervent prayers of a righteous person avails much.
Please pray with me.
Jesus, I pray that You transform us to be righteous in Your sight OOHH! LORD, we pray that “You take the heart of stone out of our flesh and give us a heart of flesh” in accordance with Your Word, (Ezekiel 36:26) also that we should be obedient to You, loving, caring, compassionate and forgiving towards one another, also teach us how to pray fervently in the mighty name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.
