Fasting.

This kind cannot come out by nothing but prayer and fasting. (Mark 9:14-29) Regarding the boy with the mute spirit, Jesus explained to His disciples why they could not cast that spirit out.

Fasting is the spiritual link to the person of Christ while He is not here on earth with us. Fasting is intentionally denying the flesh in order to gain a response from the spirit. It means renouncing the natural in order to invoke the supernatural. When fasting, you say “no” to yourself and “yes” to GOD.

Jesus fasted for forty days. (Mark 1:12-13)

The Scripture tells us that when we fast, we should not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.

Christian fasting is truly rewarding in the words of Christ Himself, (The Sermon on the Mount), “Moreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with a sad countenance. For they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. (Matthew 6:16-18) God rewards fasting.

We Fast:

To seek GOD’s guidance (Judges 20:26)

For deliverance and protection (2nd Chronicles 20:3-4)

To overcome temptation and to dedicate one’s self to GOD in total surrender. (Matthew 4:1-11).

Amen!
