The Suffering Servant.

Jesus Christ is the same Servant who suffered two thousand years ago. The One who waited patiently for several years to clean individuals. The Jesus I have come to know through studies of the Gospels, is the same Jesus. He is the same because the Scripture declares that “He remains the same forever.” (Heb. 13:8). He is the same Jesus who taught me how to pray, who brought me out from the sheepfold, brought me out from the pit, and called me His own. Jesus is the fulfillment of the old Testament prophecy which was written by Isaiah the prophet regarding the suffering Servant in Isaiah 53:5. “He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.” (NKJV).

During the creation Jesus was beside God as a master craftsman; and He was daily His delight, rejoicing always before Him.” Pro. 8:30 but “Jesus being found in appearance as a man, humbled Himself by becoming obedient to death, even death on a cross.” (Phil. 2:8) He was born in a stable, wrapped up in swaddling cloth, and laid in a manger. (Luke 2:12). Just for the sake of our “eternal life.” (John 3:16). Beautiful Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world. “He walked through cities and villages” Matt. 9:35 preaching the good news, the Kingdom of God, “to forgive one another” Eph. 4:32 “to help the poor” Mark 10:21-22 “to visit the widows and the orphans” James 1:27 and as individuals, we must learn to be humble just like Jesus, because it will do us good in the Church community.

Jesus willingly surrendered Himself to be crucified, He laid down His live for the sake of love.” (John 3:16). He was whipped, a thorn was placed on His head, His beard was pulled out, He carried the cross, was nailed on the Cross, and His side was pierced. Isa. 53:5. He was dead and buried, “but on the third day He rose from the dead” Luke 24:46-47 “and was seen by many” 1 Cor. 15:4 and “He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right-hand side of God the Father.” (Eph. 1:20; Col.3:1). Jesus was also made manifest in the flesh to “disarm principalities and powers, and to make a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.” Col. 2:15 which is the Cross, and God has “delivered us from the power of darkness, conveyed us into the Kingdom of the Son of His love.” (Col.1:13). We now belong to Jesus who bought us back from Satan’s territory, “deep darkness, into His marvelous light.” (1 Peter 2:9) OOOHHH! What a Beauty. He paid a high “price” His shed blood. (1 Cor. 6:20; 1 Cor. 7:23). He is very compassionate, Faithful and trustworthy. “God is not far from anyone of us.” Acts 17:27. And I believe the “Scriptures because it is God breathed.” (2 Tim.3:16).

In Conclusion

This Jesus is the same man from Galilee, whose hands are stretched out daily towards individuals who are willing to surrender their hearts to Him. He is very patient, and it is not His will that any should perish. He is always at work in the life of the Church, the believers. God chose His word to help mankind know Him better, and I pray that Jesus lead souls unto Himself in this dark, wicked wilderness we call home.
